The full title of the organisation is \u201cComputer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology \u2013 Mexico\u201d. This may be abbreviated to \u201cCAA Mexico\u201d. CAA Mexico is constituted as a chapter of the International Computer Applications in Archaeology organisation, abbreviated \u201cCAA\u201d (http:\/\/www.caaconference.org)<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana;font-size: small\"><br \/>\n2. The aims of CAA Mexico are:<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana;font-size: small\"><br \/>\na) to bring together archaeologists, historians, social sciences, life sciences, engineering, arts, mathematicians, computer scientists and members of other disciplines to complement and extend the interests of the international CAA such as heritage, conservation, research, etc;<br \/>\nb) to encourage communication between these disciplines;<br \/>\nc) to stimulate discussion and future progress in the application of information technology to archaeological research and practice.<br \/>\nd) to provide guidance and support in the form of seminar and workshops<br \/>\ne) to support relevant research in the above fields in the Mexican region<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana;font-size: small\"><br \/>\n3. Membership of CAA-Mexico shall be open without payment to anyone supporting the aims of CAA and CAA Mexico. Membership of CAA-Mexico does not include a free membership of the international CAA (http:\/\/www.caaconference.org). Members who wish to attend the annual conference of the international CAA must become members of that organisation according to the constitution published at http:\/\/www.caaconference.org\/caa_constitution.htm (article 3).<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana;font-size: small\"><br \/>\nMembers are entitled to the following:<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana;font-size: small\"><br \/>\na) keeping their name and address on the mailing list held by the convenors of CAA Mexico,<br \/>\nb) receiving a copy of all electronic mailings circulated to the membership of CAA Mexico,<br \/>\nc) voting at the general meetings of CAA Mexico.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana;font-size: small\"><br \/>\n4. i) CAA-Mexico shall be administered by four convenors.<br \/>\nii) The convenors will be elected biennially at the CAA-Mexico annual meeting.<br \/>\niii) One or more of the convenors of CAA-Mexico will be designated, by the convenors, as the representative of the national chapter to CAA international (ex-officio member of the steering committee of the international CAA; http:\/\/www.caaconference.org\/caa_constitution.htm [article 4.iv]);<br \/>\niv) Convenors may resign by sending notice to the remaining convenors or to all members of CAA Mexico through the current mailing list.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana;font-size: small\"><br \/>\n5. The convenors shall meet at least once a year, normally during the annual conference.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana;font-size: small\"><br \/>\n6 . i) Notice of a General Meeting, together with the formal proposals for discussion and, in particular, any changes to the Constitution, must be posted at the CAA Mexico web site at least 21 days before the date of the meeting and emailed to all members with email addresses held on the membership role at that date.<br \/>\nii) Normally the Biennial General Meeting (BGM) shall be held at the annual conference. Attendance at the BGM shall be open to all CAA-Mexico members, whether or not they are attending the conference.<br \/>\niii) The election of convenors shall take place at the BGM, normally by show of hands. All nominations must be submitted to the convenors prior to the election and the willingness of the candidate to stand must be demonstrated.<br \/>\niv) If it is not possible to hold the BGM during the annual conference, then the speakers shall call a BGM as quickly as is compatible with the required period of notice to members.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana;font-size: small\"><br \/>\n7. No member of CAA Mexico shall purport to act or make representation on behalf of the organisation without the prior agreement of the convenors.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: verdana;font-size: small\"><br \/>\n8. Any changes to this constitution must be approved by a 75% majority of votes at a BGM.
